Guidelines

Guidelines:

1. The use of motorized vehicles on the property. Motorcycles are not allowed on the property. 4 wheel ATV's and Side by Sides are allowed but only when driving at safe and responsible speeds. Any reckless behavior will result in loss of access to the property for those individuals. Driving the roads at high speed with disregard to the sheep or others, taking blind corners too fast, playing loud music while driving both day and night, are all examples of unacceptable behavior. Only riding on existing roads is allowed. Due to the amount of roads that already exist, there are few areas of sanctuary for the sheep operation as it is. Making new roads also damages the natural integrity of the property. Don't be lazy, get off and stretch your legs and walk to areas that cannot be accessed by existing roads.

2. All forms of alcohol and illegal drugs are prohibited on the property. If anyone is found with these while on the property, they will be asked to leave and will lose further access to the property.

We want everyone in the family to have a safe and enjoyable time while on the property. That being said, we find ourselves with new challenges as the family continues to grow in size. Please show a conscious respect while on the property to help from restrictions and limitations to come into effect. Management assures that steps will be taken to those that violate these rules.

Sincerely,

Management.
Mark, Boyd, Thomas

The sheep operation plays a vital role with the Bingham family property. The property originally was purchased by BA Bingham with one of the main purposes being to graze sheep. The property gets used now for many reasons such as camping, hiking, horse riding, hunting, etc. The sheep operation remains as important and vital to the success of the property as ever. The grazing also allows for the property to be taxed under greenbelt which is a much more favorable tax bracket.
Please take all possible measures to respect and help protect the sheep operation. Purposefully disrupting or causing harm to the sheep will result in loss of access to the property as per the managers; Mark, Boyd and Thomas.

Stealing:
If anyone is ever caught stealing any item from another camp, including the sheep herders camp, this will be grounds for a permanent ban from the property.

Trail cameras:
More and more family members are using trail cameras on the property. Simply put, do not touch a trail camera that is not yours. This includes accessing and viewing of memory cards. Please be respectful and show good etiquette by simply not touching or obstructing a trail camera that is not yours. If you have suspicion that a trail camera is placed by someone that does not have access to the property, please inform a member of the hunting committee.

We want everyone to be able to enjoy the property to its fullest. Please use good judgment and if ever something is in question, ask before doing. Specific rules will be set as needed but we would rather not have to set a lot of specific rules.
That being said, anyone who hunts or accesses the property without having paid their appropriate fees, or allows non family guests to do so, will result in the loss of their privileges to access the property for an undetermined amount of time as per the Board of Directors.
Also, anyone caught doing anything illegal or that is in clear violation of protecting the Bingham Ranch, the neighboring properties or anyone on the property, will also result in a loss of privileges for an undetermined amount of time. Everyone is expected to obey all State laws and regulations while on the property.
All decisions are at the discretion of the Board of Directors as every scenario will be handled case by case.

Any fire restrictions during dry seasons will either be posted here at this location, a sign at the main gate or as  indicated by Summit County.

The Board asked that an item be mentioned. It was noticed by many during the thistle spray project that new, unauthorized ATV trails have been made this year down in one of the lower camp spots close to the main gate. These new ATV trails have been driven over and over, turning them into race tracks in an area that before this year, was not even a trail. This has caused damage by making permanent trails.
This type of off road ATV use is unacceptable and if it continues, those causing this damage will be asked not to return to the property. The only time it is allowed to take an ATV off established roads is for game retrieval or special circumstances during an organized work project where the use of an ATV is required. Many of the areas around popular camp spots have ATV trails all through them and many meadows have trails where ATVs have cut through the meadow and then others have seen the new trail and followed. Before long, these turn into permanent trails.  It is not the intent to make a lot of rules so we simply ask that everyone use common sense and respect for the property by staying on established roads and especially monitoring the youngsters closely in this regard and make them aware of these guidelines.
Thanks for your help with this matter.
