The 2014 annual thistle spray day is on Saturday May 31st. We are meeting at the horse pasture at 8AM. We will have sprayers and chemical there ready for everyone to use. There will be ATV sprayers as well as backpack sprayers. Come help if you can. We need as much help as possible to cover all the areas that need to be sprayed. For questions please call Rod Bingham # 801-552-8188
See you there!!
Here are just a
few pictures from our fencing work project that took place on 7-6-13. We had a
good turn out and got a lot done. Thanks to Marlon and Rod for heading it up
and everyone that was able to make it! We replaced and repaired old fencing
along the fishcreek border down by the old cabin. We also painted the main gate
and added new signage.
The next work project is going to take place over the 4th of July weekend 2013. The main project day will be on Saturday July 6th. Meet at the horse pasture at 7:30 am. The project will be working on the fence lines, mending and stretching fence and hanging signage where needed. Marlon Bingham will have everything needed to repair the fences and Rod Bingham will have the signage to hang. The only things you may want to bring are; fencing pliers, a hammer and good work gloves. If anyone wants to bring horses to ride the fences and cover more ground while posting signage and looking for damaged areas in the fence, that might be helpful. There will be work happening on different days and times during the 4th of July weekend so if you can help on another day, please call and coordinate with Marlon or Rod.

Bingham Family Members,
We have some exciting work projects coming up soon at the
Bingham Ranch to make you all aware of.
Thistle Spray Project
Saturday June 1st, 2013. Meet at the horse
pasture at 7:30am
We will be spraying specific areas for musk thistle.
We are working with Summit County and they have told us that
based off of conditions this year, the end of May-early June and then again September-October
are the ideal times of the year to spray for thistle. Summit County is
providing us with several different types of sprayers to use also. Truck
tailgate sprayers, ATV sprayers and backpack sprayers will all be available to
use. We will have all the spray chemical as well.
If you have your own sprayer, feel free to bring it.
Otherwise, just come and help out.
A few ATV’s will be helpful but mainly what we need are
willing bodies to cover the different areas with the backpack sprayers.
Come up and camp Friday night or just drive up early
Saturday morning. Bring your own food and plenty of water to stay hydrated. The
lock has not been changed yet so last years key will work but we will plan to
leave the main gate unlocked Friday night and Saturday to make it easier for
those coming and going.
We would like a rough head count of how many to plan on so
please email back to this email as soon as you know if you are planning on
coming and also list how many workers will be with you.
Rod Bingham is overseeing this project.
You can contact him directly as well at 801-552-8188
Other items of note:
Over the 4th of July weekend, there will be a fencing
project where we are clearing deadfall, mending fence, and adding more posted
property signs on the fences for those that can help that weekend. More details
to follow after the thistle project is complete.
Melvin Richins is widening the main bridge this spring as
well and this will be a great improvement to the property.
